Institute Presentation

The Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL) are the second largest University Hospital in France, after the Hôpitaux de Paris. The HCL have an annual budget of 1,354 Billion Euros, with a total number of 20389 employees, including 2754 physicians, and 5335 beds. Every day, the HCL receive 530 emergencies, and manage 470 new in-hospital patients and 2360 outpatient visits.

The HCL include five hospitals spread all over the city of Lyon. The Neurological Hospital is located on the east side of the city, and is specialised in Neurology and Neurosurgical care, with a total of 300 beds dedicated to these specialties. This hospital benefits from a nearby and facilitated access to the CERMEP imagerie du vivant, a research platform dedicated to functional neuroimaging research in brain diseases. The CERMEP imagerie du vivant include a fully equipped PET centre that develops a number of ligands, including [18F]MPPF a potential marker of P-glycoprotein, as well as a MRI and Magnetoencephalography.

Our group manage the department of Functional Neurology and Epileptology within the Neurological Hospital, as well as the neuroimaging research projects developed in the field at the CERMEP imagerie du vivant, including the EURIPIDES project.
